Inside Minutei: A Conversation with the Team Lead, Growth
In Bangladesh’s booming quick commerce scene, where speed often trumps sustainability, Minutei champions thoughtful growth and lasting trust. We sat down with Rejwon, Growth Lead, to discuss scaling challenges, innovative experiments, and building a brand that customers rely on for the long haul.
Team Minutei: Can you walk us through your role as Minutei’s Growth Lead from the early days to now—what you oversee, what you’ve built, and what keeps you energized each week?
Rejwon: From the very beginning at Minutei, my role has been about creating structure in the middle of chaos. I basically oversee growth, partnerships, and investment. I built our weekly growth cycle, research, ideation, execution, and review, and that rhythm still drives us today. Now I oversee how experiments are run, how insights are captured, and how small wins get scaled. What keeps me energized is the thrill of testing. Every week, something new could change how our customers experience Minutei.
Team Minutei: (leaning in) That sounds like the heartbeat of a startup. What were the three biggest challenges you faced in driving Minutei’s growth during the startup phase, and which one taught you the most about scaling thoughtfully?
Rejwon: The three biggest challenges were:
1. Convincing everyone why growth mattered so early in the journey.
2. Balancing speed with sustainability in Bangladesh’s fast-moving quick commerce space.
3. Building a team rhythm that stayed consistent.
The second one, scaling thoughtfully, taught me the most. It showed me that real growth isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. You can’t burn trust or people just to hit numbers.
Team Minutei: (nods thoughtfully) A marathon mindset in a sprint world, wise words. Tell us about a moment in Minutei’s growth journey that you’re most proud of, why it mattered, and what shifted afterward.
Rejwon: One moment I’m really proud of was when we ran our first proper growth sprint as a team. We followed the full cycle and saw a clear jump in engagement. That moment mattered because it proved we could shift from being reactive to being process-driven. After that, the team stopped just “trying things” and started building a system.
Team Minutei: From chaos to system; that’s magic. Why does growth matter at Minutei beyond just the numbers—how do you see it tied to building lasting trust and customer retention?
Rejwon: Growth at Minutei has never just been about charts. For me, it’s about trust. Every returning customer isn’t just revenue; it’s proof that people believe in us. That’s why I see growth and retention as one: you can’t grow without earning loyalty, and loyalty comes from trust.
Team Minutei: Love how you weave trust into the metrics. In the Growth Playbook, what early experiments did you run to fuel Minutei’s expansion, and which ones surprised you by working or not working as expected?
Rejwon: Early on, we tested referral loops, micro-loyalty pilots, and quick content pushes. A surprise win was how authentic, simple storytelling performed better than incentive-heavy campaigns. On the flip side, referral programs didn’t take off as quickly as I expected. They showed me that people share experiences, not rewards.
Team Minutei: (chuckling) Stories over swag, classic. How do you balance rapid growth with sustainable practices, especially in the Bangladeshi market, where quick commerce is booming?
Rejwon: The Bangladeshi market pushes you to grow fast, but rushing can damage reliability. I’ve always focused on testing small, learning fast, and only scaling what works. That discipline lets us grow without stretching beyond what we can actually deliver. By the way, we are the pioneers of quick commerce in Bangladesh.
Team Minutei: (chuckling) Pioneers with patience, impressive. Looking ahead, what does the future of sustainable growth look like for Minutei in Bangladesh? What key strategies will keep us thriving long-term?
Rejwon: Sustainable growth for Minutei will mean three things: deepening customer trust, expanding into new markets carefully, and building a playbook that makes growth repeatable. Long-term, it’s not about chasing hype. It’s about compounding small wins that make us stronger every year.
Team Minutei: (chuckling) Compounding wins. That’s the dream. How do you foster a growth mindset within the team, ensuring that data-driven decisions align with Minutei’s caring and empathetic culture?
Rejwon: I foster a culture where every experiment is viewed as a learning opportunity rather than simply a win or a loss. We value insights as much as results. I also stress that data must ultimately serve people; empathy should guide numbers if we want sustainable growth. Finally, I remind the team: If you are in time, you are late!
Team Minutei: (laughing) Ouch, but point taken, urgency with heart. Where do you envision Minutei’s growth trajectory in the next 3–5 years? What’s the big vision, and what milestones will mark our progress?
Rejwon: In the next 3–5 years, I see Minutei becoming a benchmark for sustainable growth in Bangladesh. The milestones along the way will be doubling retention, expanding beyond Dhaka with the same reliability, and building a loyalty ecosystem that customers genuinely value. The big vision is to make Minutei the most trusted name in everyday convenience.
Team Minutei: Visionary stuff. One last one: Who has influenced your approach to growth, and what personal habits keep you grounded in this high-stakes world?
Rejwon: Aadit Palicha, CEO and co-founder of Zepto, has been one of my biggest influences, shaping the way I think and lead. I’m also fortunate to have our co-founders, whose guidance and perspectives continue to shape my journey. Alongside them, I’ve drawn valuable lessons from studying the early-stage strategies of Zomato and Zepto. They taught me that growth isn’t just about speed. It’s about balancing scale with care. One habit that keeps me aligned with this mindset is journaling. My weekly reflections, with measures and lessons, keep me grounded while also pushing me to look ahead. This is the approach I strive to bring into Minutei every day.
Team Minutei: (grinning) Mentors, marathons, and journals, what a combo. Thanks for sharing the growth blueprint, Rejwon. It’s clear Minutei’s edge isn’t just speed—it. It’s the smart, soulful way you scale.
